Dan,
You need to spend some time in a Muslim country talking about the compassion of Jesus. Then, just share our value system with them, and let them know they are welcome to share theirs with us.
If Shock and Awe are part of our shared value system for a Muslim country and dropping bombs on innocent people is considered compassionate in your world of Christianity (Jesus), then worshipping both God and Mammon is acceptable to you? You can't have it both ways. If so, then your religion is no different than what you stereotype theirs to be.
Compassion is getting a rid of a tyrant who killed hundreds of thousands and people. Then it is trying to rebuild a country which is being infiltrated by outsides who are trying to prevent us from doing so.
I suppose the practical thing to do is get out and let them start killing each other and us again. How anyone can justify that is beyond me.
Wow Bob! You have drank enough Jonestown koolaide to kill another 900 people in Guyana!
Bob,our presence in Iraq has killed hundreds of thousands of people. We are outsiders there. We are running a military occupation and operate outside Iraqi law. By your logic, it would be compassionate for another country to invade Iraq in order to drive us out.
Dan,
If another country wanted to come into Iraq in order to maintain the peace until the Iraqi people can do so, I am sure we would agree. However, nobody else has the compassion to help them besides us. Isolation is not good policy. It wasn't in 1940, and it isn't now.
wow. i mean, all i was going to say is, 'that was a funny video!'
